From Smoker to Smoking Hot – How I Quit Smoking For Good!

We grew up in a time when everybody smoked cigarettes, your parents, Aunts & uncles, teachers, and even kids smoked, my dad claimed to have started smoking at age 10.  I remember riding my bicycle to the corner store to buy cigarettes for my parents at age 6 or 7.

It seems rather dysfunctional today to share these memories almost like we were raised by sinister inhuman monsters. My, how times have changed, we live in a world today quite the opposite. Trust me, we were loved and raised very well according to the standards during that time.

I picked up a love for cigarettes during my high school days and became a full-time smoker by 18. I quit several times in my life for various reasons but always went back. The first thing I did when I came home from birthing my children was smoke a cigarette.

Stupid is as stupid does, I recall smoking in the office where we worked, crazy, right? Time evolved a new generation, science and medicine would prove quitting to be beneficial and over-time we smokers became more and more outnumbered.

Some of us hardcore cigarette lovers were far too hard-headed to listen and despite the noise, we continued. My excuse was always, I have no other bad habits, I don’t drink at all and never have been a drinker, I best be dying before you give me narcotics of any kind but cigarettes were my weakness.

I decided in July, enough is enough, 50’s and fabulous, health and wellness business and cigarettes just don’t mix. This time I decided to quit and for good. I did a lot of research since I have had other failed attempts, so I decided to try the hypnosis route.

I changed a few things in my daily routine before quit day. I joined the gym and  July 17th I started a whole new journey. I won’t lie, this journey has been difficult, at times I thought about giving in, but I am determined to beat this demon.

I am 50 plus days smoke-free and feel amazing!  Power walking 2 to 3 miles a day, riding my bicycle about the same and in the gym at least 2 days a week burning my body up, literally!

I added to my daily routine 32 to 64 oz of water intake, have not made any changes to my diet otherwise, not eating more instead of smoking, added all this exercise and unexplainably, I have been packing on the pounds. Hard to believe, making all these positive changes and I am battling a weight gain issue.

I do believe that this is a mid-life metabolic scramble, my body is in total shock, the healing process from years of smoking plus the added shock of this girl working out, my body simply doesn’t know what to do. My check engine light is on, you can see the smoke billowing from miles away, but….she is running!

I will not give up or give in, working on a few other things to re-set the middle age metabolism that’s likely the culprit and I will keep you posted! I highly recommend Hypnosis, it does work, makes the process easier and you can walk-in a smoker and walk out DONE!

The Freedom of quitting is amazing!

Spread the love!
